A new chapter in digital learning has begun at Newclare Primary School in Johannesburg, where learners now have access to a fully equipped digital library, made possible through a partnership between Summits With A Purpose NPC and Vuma.
The initiative, led by Summits With A Purpose NPC, expanded today with the delivery of the digital library to Newclare Primary School. As the official connectivity partner, Vuma is powering the institution through its Fibre to Schools initiative., enabling access to digital learning tools and resources. By combining high-speed fibre infrastructure with the digital library, the partners are creating a more equitable learning environment where access to knowledge is no longer limited by infrastructure.
The digital library gives learners access to a wide range of online educational resources, creating a space where they can explore, read, and learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. For many learners, this marks their first meaningful access to consistent digital tools for education.
Founder and Director of Summits With A Purpose, Saray Khumalo, says the project reflects years of work focused on expanding opportunity through education.
“At Summits With A Purpose, we believe that access to knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we can give our children. This digital library is more than just a resource, it’s a gateway to possibility. Over the years, we’ve seen how meaningful partnerships can turn vision into real impact, and this initiative is a reflection of that. The summit of digital equality is high, but with partners like Vuma walking this journey with us, the view from the top becomes truly life-changing for these learners. Vuma’s infrastructure enable this digital learning environment and we are proud to work alongside them.”
For educators at Newclare Primary, the digital library introduces new ways of teaching and engaging learners, helping to build both literacy and digital confidence from an early age.
The delivery forms part of Summits With A Purpose’s ongoing work to bring digital access to schools across the country, particularly in communities where access remains out of reach.
As the first learners begin using the space, the hope is simple: that this digital library becomes not just a room, but a starting point, one that opens doors to knowledge, confidence, and future opportunity
