Chidimma withdraws from Miss SA pageant

Chidimma Adetshina has to think twice withdrawn from the Miss South Africa pageant, as confirmed by a statement on social media.

The decision follows controversy over her eligibility due to her Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, despite being born and raised in South Africa.

This move comes after the Department of Home Affairs revealed potential fraud and identity theft involving Adetshina’s mother.https://www.instagram.com/p/C-aE4F4NdoA/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=14&wp=540&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.africaninsider.com&rp=%2Farts-and-leisure%2Fchidimma-withdraws-from-miss-sa-pageant%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A2354.7000000001863%2C%22ls%22%3A1064.5%2C%22le%22%3A1113.7999999998137%7D

Adetshina was scheduled to compete in the 2024 Miss South Africa event this Saturday.

“Being part of the Miss South Africa 2024 competition has been an amazing journey however, after much careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw myself from the competition for the safety and wellbeing of my family and I.

“With the support of the Miss South Africa organisation, I leave with a heart full of gratitude for this amazing experience.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish my fellow finalists all of the best for the remainder of the competition. Whoever wears the crown represents us all,” the statement read.
