WARNER MUSIC AFRICA X AFRICORI TRIUMPH AT THE 31ST SOUTH AFRICAN MUSIC AWARDS

The 31st South African Music Awards (SAMAs) unfolded under the theme “Flowers For Those Who Keep Our Nation Singing” — a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the ever-blossoming spirit of South African music. Both tribute and metaphor, the theme honoured musicians with their flowers while they can still smell them. Against this backdrop, Warner Music Africa, in partnership with Africori, delivered a defining night as a collective of boundary-pushing artists claimed top honours, affirming their cultural impact and sonic excellence.

Leading the night’s accolades was Sjava, whose deeply introspective offering, Isibuko (Deluxe), secured the award for Best Afro Pop Album. A body of work rooted in reflection and emotional truth, Isibuko continues Sjava’s tradition of storytelling that speaks directly to lived experience, positioning him as one of the most important voices of his generation.
