AmaZulu’s next task in the Betway Premiership will see the team go up against KZN rivals Royal AM at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday evening.
Kick-off is at 19h30 CAT.
Usuthu unfortunately lost their most recent league match against TS Galaxy, but things look promising as the team has picked up two victories out of their last three fixtures.
Head co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi says that the team is still in their rebuilding process, so there is no need to be pushing any “panic buttons” at the moment.
“We strongly believe there are a lot of positives we can take going forward. We just need to align a few areas, especially our defensive structure,” said Vilakazi.
“Teams are scoring [against AmaZulu] very easily, but we find it very difficult to score goals, even though we do create scoring opportunities.”
He also added that the team just needs to keep working towards improving both going forward and defensively in order to find consistency in the results.
As it stands, Royal AM are two points clear of AmaZulu in the league standings and a derby win for Usuthu could see them leapfrog
