The Lowkeys Press Play With The Release Of  Their Debut Album “Don’t Press Play”

After years of dropping hit after hit, today The Lowkeys have finally released their debut album ‘Don’t Press Play’ available on all digital platforms today. Listen here.

When describing their debut album, the certified hitmaking amapiano duo, shared: “It’s a journey into a multidisciplinary art form of experimental music.”

The Lowkeys kicked off their journey to release Don’t Press Play in December with their lead single ‘Van Damme’. When talking about the single The Lowkeys shared; Van Damme is the evolution of The Lowkeys, a fresh urban look into the artists being his own hero, it is a story of a victory lap, making it to the other side despite the many challenges and hardships of the entertainment industry. A threat to challenges still coming. Ready to kick down doors.”

Since having started work on a studio album, The Lowkeys stated on multiple occasions that the material on the album will not be a replication of their earlier hits such as “Gugu” and “Stolen Goods” but rather an experimental and more synthetic record. Keeping true to The Lowkeys signature instrumental music this projects unveils before us the realm of the mighty and the immeasurable.

“A track list brings a music set in motion the machinery of awe to inspire, motivate and move people for the rest of history. A short movement, it helped bridge the gap between the more “modern” Piano, Dianaka tsa Babedi, piano soul and deep house evolution of symphony recordings/interpretations especially from our earlier work.”

Other tracks are overly bombastic with giant basslines but keeping to the symphonies. Collectively these songs are some of the most breath-taking works of music/art,” The duo shared about the album.
