What began as a simple community walk in 2023 has grown into something far more structured and impactful. The recent Charity Fun Walk, held in Virginia, marked the official launch of the Sliq Records Foundation – a formal vehicle for social impact.
Founded by Pule Chauke best known as Sliq Magagula and is the CEO of Sliq Records – a label home to artists Puleng Phofoolo, Blxxk Fargo, Moriente Mariachi, Keketso Thibile, Rare Breeds, Jourje to name a few. The Foundation is the natural progression of Magagula’s long-standing commitment to giving back. For the past six years, Sliq Records has quietly supported a range of grassroots initiatives in sports, education, music development, and food relief. The launch of the Foundation signals a new era — one that will see these efforts scale with intent and focus.

This year’s walk raised funds towards the purchasing of school shoes, sanitary pads, and food parcels for underprivileged children across the Free State. More than a feel-good moment, the event was a strategic step in building a sustainable model for ongoing community support.
While the foundation has cemented its purpose and cause, it has also been supported by those with a generous hand including the likes of The Lounge, MphoTshepi Traders, Bahlakoana Laundry & Maintenance, Meloding Funeral Services, Woman In Me, Nyapotse Inc, Nazo Fuel, Dr 911 Lifestyle Bikers, Renergen, Tailor Made Trading, Coco Fino, Virginia Hot Spot, General Boboski Group, Run FS, and 057 Café.
“We’re not chasing headlines or handshakes. We’re building something that lasts. This is just the beginning,” Magagula says.
The Sliq Records Foundation will be formally launched on the 28th of June 2025 and will continue to expand its footprint, focusing on structured community development in arts, education, sport, and essential relief.

When and why did you launch the foundation?
The Sliq Records Foundation was established six years ago by myself. I have been involved in community building and giving for more than five years. I just decided to make it official through the foundation as this helps with collaborations and reaching more people.
What inspired you to start the Sliq Records Foundation?
I’ve learned to share what I have. If you’re in a position to help someone or contribute towards a child’s bright future – then it is a must. This foundation is about doing exactly that — consistently and with structure. The recent Charity Fun Walk, held in Virginia, marked the start and we will have an official launch. This is just the start of something greater.
What has the foundation achieved thus far?
Currently, the foundation has been actively involved in a range of impactful projects. We’ve partnered with local schools to provide basic support and distributed essential supplies to schools in need. The 2025 Charity Fun Walk & Aerobics marked the foundation’s first event. The main focus of the foundation is to empower and uplift disadvantaged communities through arts, education, sport, and essential relief.
What challenges have you come across in the communities that you have been able to reach?
One of the major problems is raising funds to react to the demand or need. There are more needs than there are more funds. So our main challenge is getting sponsors and raising funds to cater to the needs of the community, hence the team came up with the concept of the fun walk in order to raise funds.
What brings you joy as a foundation?
The greatest reward comes from seeing the positive impact our efforts have on individuals and communities. Watching young people gain confidence, achieve their goals, and rise above their circumstances brings a deep sense of fulfillment. Knowing that the foundation is helping to shape brighter futures and inspire hope makes every challenge worthwhile.
