ZamaNguni’s death comes a few days after the burial of her son, Gqom superstar Mampinstsha, AKA Shimora. Reports suggested that she had suffered a stroke and was hospitalised at the  Wentworth government hospital in Durban. Just recently, Pinki Gumede, her daughter, told Zimoja that she was later diagnosed with TB and were waiting for the results to come back to let them know what type TB she had.

Pinki now informed the media that Zama Gumede, has sadly passed away.

“Now that she’s gone, I can see that she wanted to bid farewell to us. She told me she was old and that she was leaving. She asked if everyone was around and I said yes. She wanted to see Sponge, Mampintsha’s son and I told her he was not around. I could see the sadness in her eyes and she did not say anything. She gave us her blessing and we spent some time with her. We then left. At about 10h00 I received a call informing me that she is dead,” Gumede told the publication.

Pinki said she was in high spirits and told them jokes even though she was at her death bed. The pain of losing her brother and mother just days apart left Pinki heartbroken. She said they are not financially prepared for this as Mampintsha took care of all the policies.

Speaking to Zimoja Pinky Gumede a few days ago Mampintsha’s sister, said their mother still asked for him and she had to lie and say he is at the airport. Her health was not in the best state as she needed assistance with walking and performing other duties.

“Even now she is still asking for Mandla and I’ve had to tell her that he is at the airport,” the publication quoted Pinky. “She needs a private hospital and a psychologist to help her deal with the trauma, so she can move on. At the moment we do not have money to give her special health care and we are. appealing for help,” she continued.

They even had to assist her with walking, “We had to help her to walk. But now she is worse. The doctor says her liver has been affected and she also has been diagnosed with a stroke. But her stroke is not bad, she will not be disabled If she takes her medication. She has not been able to eat properly and that is affecting how she takes her medication.”

Her death came at a time when she and her in-laws had not completely buried the hatchet. Nondumiso Simelane, Babes Wodumo’s sister, allegedly did not believe that Zama Gumede was sick because her family did not report this matter to them. She claims that all their efforts go unnoticed because of Pinky, the sister.

“If she was really sick, Pinky would call us and tell the family. Why has no one phoned us?” Nondumiso Simelane tells Zimoja. “Pinky has a big problem. She is the evil sister-in-law that nobody wants. She wanted to choose a wife for Mandla and when that didn’t happen, she made sure she made life difficult for everyone. Babes even tried to make peace with the mother-in-law, but Pinky got in the way of that. Babes sent groceries during the funeral arrangements, but she is still ungrateful. She is going around telling people we received Mandla’s life cover, but we didn’t. She is evil.”
