Linda Mtoba Biography

Linda initially pursued a career in teaching before transitioning to acting. With a natural flair for the craft, she quickly made a name for herself in the industry, landing prominent roles in popular television shows and movies.

Linda Mtoba is a professionally trained teacher. She kickstarted her career in education by teaching isiZulu to intermediate-phase students (grades 1 to 5) in KwaZulu-Natal for a year after graduating.

Despite her background in teaching, Linda had a secret passion for acting. Encouraged by her naturally exuberant personality, her friends urged her to audition for Isibaya.

Initially hesitant, Linda decided to give it a try and ended up captivating the audience with her performance, ultimately securing the role of Zama Ngwenya on the show.

Playing the daughter of Judas Ngwenya, a notorious taxi boss played by Menzi Ngubane, and Beauty Ngwenya, her mother played by Thuli Thabethe, Linda quickly made a name for herself in the acting industry.

In 2018, Linda secured another prominent role as Nomonde on the highly acclaimed telenovela The River, where she acted alongside Sindi Dlathu, Moshidi Motshwega, Hlomla Dandala, and Presley Chweneyagae

Besides The River and Isibaya, Linda Mtoba has also starred in the  One Night kwa Mxolisi (2021) and The Fashion Hero Presents: A New Kind of Beautiful.

Recently, she bagged a new role on Mzansi Magic’s season two of Isifiso.

Linda Mtoba is happily married to Steven Meyer. The couple first crossed paths in 2011 at a nightclub and reconnected later on Facebook.

After dating for six years, Steven proposed to Linda in 2017 and she happily accepted.

The couple celebrated their union with a vibrant traditional wedding that took place at Linda’s family home.
