KFC celebrates the KFC Mini-Cricket Volunteer Coaches resounding success at the CSA Awards

 KFC Mini-Cricket volunteer coaches were celebrated for their resounding success at the 14th annual CSA Pathway Awards. The event honored those who played a vital role in the KFC Mini-Cricket programme, a key programme for nurturing young talent and fostering a love for cricket among children across South Africa.

The CSA Awards are known to celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals who make a significant impact in the world of cricket. The event acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the men and women that drives the sport’s future.

The winners received the awards under the following categories: The Mini Cricket Coach of the Year, Mini Cricket Coordinator of the Year and Bucket Loads of Good Award. The notable winners are:

KFC Mini-Cricket Coach of the Year joint winners

  • Mfaniseni Hadebe (KZN Inland): For over 30 years, Coach Hadebe has demonstrated remarkable dedication in his dual roles as a volunteer cricket coach and security guard at Willowfontein Primary School. His commitment to the KFC Mini-Cricket program reflects a deep passion for youth development and sports. He holds professional coaching licenses at Levels 1 and 2, highlighting his formal training and expertise in cricket coaching. His experience, combined with his coaching qualifications, highlights his significant contribution to both his school and the broader community.
  • Zimbini Mkhutyukelwa (KEI): For 22 years, Coach Mkhutyukelwahas been a cornerstone of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme, combining her passion for coaching with her role as the principal at Highbury Primary School. Her long-term commitment to nurturing young cricketers highlights her dedication to fostering both academic and athletic growth. As a leader in education and sports, Coach Mkhutyukelwa’scontributions have been instrumental in developing the next generation of cricket stars. 

KFC Mini-Cricket Coordinator of the Year Award winner

  • Nation Ntlame (North-West): Ntlame has been honored for his exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions to the KFC Mini-Cricket programme, earning the KFC Mini-Cricket Coordinator of the Year award for the second year in a row. With over 20 years of commitment to the programme, Ntlame’s innovative approach and tireless efforts have been instrumental in the successful development and expansion of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme in the North – West region. His remarkable leadership and unwavering dedication continue to inspire and elevate the initiative, making a significant impact on the local cricket community.

KFC Bucket Loads of Good Award Winner

  • Rebecca Maloka (Central Gauteng Lions): Coach Maloka, a distinguished Senior Administrator at the Johannesburg West District, has been honored for her remarkable 16-year dedication to the KFC Mini-Cricket programme. In addition to her administrative role, she serves as a volunteer coach and coordinator in the Swaneville Area, where her Level 1 Coaching Certificate enhances her ability to nurture young talent. Her steadfast commitment and passionate involvement has contributed to the growth and success of the KFC Mini-Cricket initiative in Central Gauteng. Maloka’s exceptional efforts continue to make a positive impact on the cricket community, inspiring both players and fellow volunteers alike.

“These awards not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also highlighted the collective effort required to nurture cricket from the grassroots level. The recognition of these dedicated individuals underscores their vital role in shaping the future of South African cricket and serves as a beacon of inspiration for everyone involved in cricket development,” Nel concluded.
