GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum global superstar Miley has released her highly anticipated tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, via Atlantic Records, available now on all streaming platforms HERE. The album opens a new chapter for the global star, who has dropped Cyrus from her stage name and now goes simply by Miley.
Johannesburg got its own preview.

Ahead of the album’s global arrival, Warner Music Africa took over the Roger Ballen Centre for Photography in Forest Town for an intimate, invite-only first listen to Bass Persuades. Media, partners, fans and some of the city’s culture-shapers were brought together for one night inside Miley’s new era, hearing all 10 tracks before the rest of the world.

Against the surreal backdrop of one of Johannesburg’s most distinctive creative spaces, guests heard the album from beginning to end, traded first reactions and called their favourites in real time. “Bass Persuades” and “Let’s Get Married” quickly became talking points in the room, as the evening moved from first listen to first debate over which songs would become the album’s standouts.

Among those getting the first listen were some of South Africa’s prominent media figures and creative minds, including television personalities Chanley Wong and Lee-Roy Wright, DJ and top fashion model Ponahalo Mojapelo, and radio personalities Mike Vee, Thabile TTO, and Joy Fakude, alongside a select group of influential digital content creators and dedicated fans.

It was a rare chance to experience a major global pop release before algorithms, timelines and first-week numbers entered the conversation: just a room full of people hearing the music for the first time together.
Bass Persuades spans 10 tracks, including collaborations with Model/Actriz on “Different Religion” and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow on “Neon Signs”, with production contributions from longtime collaborators including Kid Harpoon and Maxx Morando.
The album arrives led by its title track, “Bass Persuades,” which quickly became the #1 Most Added Overall Song at US Radio, while debuting at #1 on the US Spotify Top Songs chart and #2 globally. Joining the album on release day is the official music video for “Let’s Get Married,” directed by Mert Alas and filmed at the iconic Chateau Marmont, with an appearance from Miley’s fiancé, Maxx Morando.
The celebrations now move from Johannesburg to Los Angeles, where Miley will take over the legendary Hollywood Bowl for two sold-out nights on October 16 and 18. Demand for the shows was immediate, with nearly 1.5 million fans joining the ticket queue during pre-sales.
