FNB Private and RMB Private Bank enhance client lifestyle value with expanded eBucks benefits at Woolworths

FNB Private and RMB Private Bank are unlocking more value for clients through the expansion of the eBucks Rewards programme. From 1 October 2026, qualifying FNB Private and RMB Private Bank clients can earn eBucks on eligible Woolworths purchases when paying with a qualifying FNB or RMB Private Bank Virtual Card.

This new initiative brings relevant, everyday value into a broader Private offering designed to support clients across their banking, borrowing, investing, insurance and lifestyle needs. It also responds directly to how clients live, with a significant part of our clients already spending at Woolworths.

Woolworths adds a significant lifestyle benefit to the value already available to FNB Private and RMB Private Bank clients, extending eBucks earning into food, fashion, beauty and home purchases. This is just one more way the Private offering is turning our client’s broader financial relationship into meaningful value in everyday life.

Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB Private Banking and Wealth Management, says this initiative reflects a continued focus and opportunity to strengthen the value clients receive from their broader financial services relationship. “Private is about more than banking. It is about bringing personalised advice, integrated financial solutions and relevant lifestyle benefits together around each client,” he says. “Woolworths strengthens our offering by giving qualifying clients another practical way to earn rewards on purchases that already form part of their monthly spend.

The new lifestyle earn opportunity builds on an established suite of benefits available to FNB Private and RMB Private Bank clients, including eBucks Rewards, free or discounted devices and appliances, savings of up to 80% on full fare on flights and access to local and global lounges, up to 30% back on groceries and personal care, eBucks PayDay – a monthly rewards day on the 15th that gives clients access to selected one-day offers and partner deals.

To maximise the value for FNB Private and RMB Private Bank clients, eligible spend at participating Woolworths stores, Woolworths Food, Woolworths Online and Woolworths Dash are combined over the month. This means that qualifying purchases contribute towards the same monthly Woolworths spend amount, with rewards determined according to the applicable spend threshold and the client’s eBucks Reward Level. Depending on their banking proposition and eligibility, qualifying clients can earn up to eB6 000 or eB10 000 in eBucks each month on eligible Woolworths spend, equivalent to R600 or R1 000 respectively.

The way clients pay is central to qualifying for eBucks. Eligible Woolworths purchases must be made using a qualifying FNB or RMB Private Bank Virtual Card, while physical card payments do not count towards the Woolworths earn benefit. This gives clients a clear qualifying action while supporting secure digital payment behaviour.

Bathandwa Mbovane, Head of Reward at eBucks, says this opportunity reflects the continued evolution of the eBucks programme as clients look for greater value, simplicity and flexibility from their rewards. “Client needs and spending behaviour continue to evolve, and rewards need to evolve with them,” he says. “Woolworths broadens the role eBucks can play across several important areas of everyday spend while keeping the earning experience clear and relevant.”

Mbovane says the focus is on ensuring that additions to the eBucks partner network strengthen the overall value clients receive rather than simply increasing the number of places where they can earn.

“The strength of eBucks lies in creating benefits that clients can genuinely use,” he says. “Woolworths adds meaningful everyday value to an already compelling proposition for FNB Private and RMB Private Bank clients, bringing more value across everyday spending categories while making their banking relationship even more rewarding.”
