Dinokeng Projects (an entity of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development) cordially invites
media to the 2024 Meetings Dinokeng Showcase for an “Africa in One Day” experience on the 12th-
13th March 2024 (see programme attached as Annexure 1)
Meetings Dinokeng Showcase is a trade and networking platform that is meant to create awareness,
to the tourism trade, media, and other critical stakeholders, of the diverse tourism products and
experiences, and vibrant culture of the Dinokeng area, proving why Dinokeng is the “Africa in One
Day” experience.
During the two days, you will have a close encounter with the Big 5 wildlife, be exposed to rich culture
and wide-ranging tourism and hospitality experiences of the Dinokeng area, which encompasses
Cullinan (known for its Diamond Mine, where the world’s largest gem-quality rough diamond was
found), Roodeplaat (where the Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve is located, the reserve offers bird-
watching, game-viewing, and a range of watersports. Roodeplaat was also the proud host of the
2023 World Rowing Masters Regatta- the first to be hosted in Africa.) and the Dinokeng Game
Reserve (which is the only free roaming Big 5 Game Reserve in Gauteng).
