Toyota SA Adult Championships: Only the Best Will Rise

Midway through the 2026 South African showjumping season, the top tier competition has never been tighter. Already completed on the equestrian calendar are the Toyota Easter Festival, the Toyota SA Outdoor Grand Prix and the Toyota World Cup Qualifier. Now, attention turns to the prestigious Toyota SA Adult Championships – a fiercely contested event where South Africa’s finest horse-and-rider combinations will battle for national honours.

Launched in February, the 2026 showjumping season was branded the Ultimate 4×4 Series Powered by Toyota, comprising of four premier events. The overall series champion will drive away in a brand-new Toyota Hilux Double Cab Legend, courtesy of Toyota South Africa Motors.

With three prestine arenas operating at full capacity throughout, the country’s top riders will compete for coveted championship titles across the various competitions ranging from the 80cm classes through to the elite 1.50m championship.

The ultimate showdown will take place from 13h00 on Sunday, 9 August, when the Adult 1.50m Toyota SA Showjumping Adult Championship crowns the country’s national champion. Spectators can enjoy free entry as horse and rider combinations tackle a demanding course that promises excitement from the opening bell to the final fence, making it a spectacular event for both dedicated equestrian fans and first-time visitors alike.

Kyalami Park Club Event Director, Heather Mpofu, believes the show will provide the ultimate examination of skill, athleticism and partnership.

“The Toyota SA Adult Championships are one of the highlights of our calendar because every detail is carefully considered months in advance. Our course builders, ground staff and administration team work tirelessly to ensure our competitors are thoroughly tested while delivering an outstanding experience for spectators. Our flourishing partnership with Toyota continues to elevate this event, showcasing the very best of South African showjumping over five unforgettable and action-packed days. With our exceptional course-building team of Kate Launder, Ryan Sander and Milton Kgole, I have no doubt that only the very best horse-and-rider combinations will rise to the top.”

Competition begins on Wednesday, 5 August, across all three arenas — the Peter Minnie Arena, the May Foxcroft Arena and the Members Arena. Entry is free throughout the show, with equestrian enthusiasts invited to experience five days of world-class showjumping at Kyalami Equestrian Park.
