The Department of Education in Gauteng continues to face the main problems of increasing budget on constraints such as infrastructure backlog and growing learner demand, despite an increase in the budget from R69.6 billion the previous year to R70.9 billion. In education, our focus remains on improving learning outcomes, strengthening school support and ensuring that every learner has access to quality education.
The DSACR Budget Vote recognises that sport, arts, culture, recreation and heritage play a vital role in building a united society, creating opportunities for young people, strengthening social cohesion and driving economic inclusion.
We also extended an invitation to Gauteng-based PSL clubs to better understand the investments being made towards sport development across the province.
