Peter ‘Mashata’ Mabuse’s mother blame police for failure ling his death

The mother of slain comedian and DJ, Peter “Mashata” Mabuse, attributed her son’s death to the failures of police.

Rebecca Mabuse spoke out for the first time on Monday following a visit by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.

Following a visit by Lesufi, the comedian’s mother expressed her anger with the state of policing in the neighbourhoods of Mabopane and Soshanguve.

“They come here when there’s a scene, but you’ll never see them running around and protecting. There’s so much crime happening, and we are crying on the government but as a society, we know the culprit, [so] why can’t we help the police?”

Speaking to the media at her home, where banners brandishing her son’s face up have been put up, Mabuse’s mother criticised Lesufi for failing to ensure that his crime warders were visible in the area.

“I’m thinking that it’s not Soshanguve that has crime, it’s people from outside.”

Mourners started making their way to the Mabuse residence to convey their condolences.
