I was curious to hear what it would sound like if the usual tools were substituted by something else, something perhaps a bit more organic like a live band as opposed to electronic samples. I think when we take things out of their usual textural environment we open up a conversation about what is the actual essence of a genre. Is it the signature drums, the tempo, the mood or the vocal nuances. These are all necessary questions that can potentially spark the evolution of a genre”commented Desire Marea
