Vuyo Mere was born on the 5th of March 1984 in Bloemfontein. As from March 2023, the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger is 39 years old.

The long serving Premier Soccer League (PSL) winger has played for a total of seven clubs in his life. All those clubs are in the South African Premier Division. Unfortunately, the likes of Hellenic and Platinum Stars no longer exist.

Vuyo Mere started his football journey at Hellenic football club. Few years later he joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

At the Chloorkop based side, he spent seven years, however, in his final year, he was loaned to Swallows.

After returning from loan at Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns decided not to renew his contract. Mamelodi Sundowns not renewing his contract with Vuyo Mere left the player depressed.

He opened up about wanting to commit suicide after being dumped by Mamelodi Sundowns for bad behavior. However, the call from Platinum Stars saved his life.

Vuyo Mere also represented Bidvest Wits and also helped the Soweto based side, Swallows FC return to the top flight few years ago.

He is now at TS Galaxy and has not been playing much ever since he joined the club.

Salary

The salary of Vuyo Mere might not be known, however, it was estimated that the player is earning around R30 000 since he is not a regular starter.

So far this season, the talented winger has only made four appearances for the Ndebele based side.
