National Children’s Gardening Week book reading at the Nelson Mandela Foundation

The Nelson Mandela Foundation invites you to celebrate National Children’s Week by participating in National Children’s Gardening Week. This event aims to promote gardening activities and will be held from May 27 to June 4 this year.

As part of our efforts to address food security and climate change, this year’s Mandela Day call for 2023 focuses on involving children and youth. The activation allows young children to play a direct role in promoting food security and combating climate change, emphasizing the message that “It is in Your Hands.” In celebration of National Gardening Week, a unique Mandela Day tree and seedling planting event will be organized.

This activation will take place after the scheduled book reading of the children’s illustrated edition of Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom.

We look forward to your participation in this meaningful event that empowers children and raises awareness about important global issues.
