MEC Morakane Mosupyoe congratulate the FIFA World Cup bound Banyana Banyana Squad made up of 10 Gauteng based players

Congratulations to our Banyana Banyana squad announced and specifically our 10 Gauteng based players from our teams selected to play in fourth coming Women FIFA world cup, made up of six ladies  from Mamelodi Sundowns ladies team: Andile Dlamini, Karabo Dhlamini, Lebohang Ramalepe, Tiisetso Makhubela, Bambani Mbane, and Melinda Kgadiete. 

Three (3) JVW ladies FC made up of Kaylin Swart, Robyn Moodaly, Gabriela Salgado, as well as Wendy Shongwe from the University of Pretoria ladies’ team. 

It is worth indicating that we also have our international start Refiloe ‘Fifinho’ Jane a professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Italian Serie A club US Sassuolo. She previously played for Tshwane University of Technology and was discovered through our own Gauteng future champion project. 

This is an incredible achievement that reflects your exceptional skills, unwavering dedication, and sheer determination. Your hard work and passion for the sport have paid off, and you now have the opportunity to represent not only Gauteng but also your country on the grand international stage of soccer.

Being chosen to play for the national team is a testament to your talent and the countless hours of practice and sacrifice you have invested in your soccer journey. Your selection is not only a personal triumph but also an inspiration to aspiring players everywhere, especially our young girls who look up to you, showing them that dreams can come true through hard work and perseverance.

As you embark on this new chapter, remember to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Cherish every moment, play with your hearts, and always give your best on the field. You are now ambassadors of Gauteng and a source of pride for your community.

We have no doubt that you will represent Gauteng and your nation with honour, skill, and determination. Stay focused, support one another, and continue to strive for excellence. The journey may not always be easy, but your passion and dedication will guide you towards success.
