Honouring Ground-Breaking Achievements

Hello and welcome to our Media-themed gsport Newsletter, as we celebrate and honour women who are making history and breaking new ground in sport!
First up, we would like to congratulate former Banyana Banyana footballer turned corporate star, Lydia Monyepao, who takes up the position of SAFA CEO.
Monyepao swiftly moves into the role after her two-year tenure as Chief Operations Officer, and is now the first woman to hold the position permanently. Previously, Pinky Lehoko was in office albeit as Acting CEO.
As women continue to make moves in The Year of Women’s Sport, today we shine the light on 2022 Momentum gsport Awards SuperSport Woman in TV winner, Nono Cele Xaba as our #WCW. Xaba continues to defy the odds in production as she looks forward to her next project – the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town!
In our #WorldCupWednesday focus, SPAR Proteas wing attack and #StandTall ambassador, Khanyisa Chawane hosted the first of four netball clinics for young netball enthusiasts and fans at Lesedi Primary School in Botshabelo. The aim of the clinics is to inspire the next generation, leading up to the 2023 Netball World Cup and beyond. Scroll down to read more!
We track the journey of passionate sport writer, Khomotso Makgabutlane, who has ambitions of writing her own book based on her experience in the sport media industry.
