Day two of the 2026 Engen Champ of Champs delivered plenty of action as teams in both the U-18 Boys and U-20 Girls divisions battled it out for a place in the semi-finals.
U-18 BOYS DIVISION
Kaizer Chiefs finished at the top of Group A after recording three wins and a draw, securing a semi-final clash against Group B runners-up Antalyaspor JMP. AmaZulu, who claimed top spot in Group B with two wins and a draw, will face Mpumalanga-based side East High Academy, who finished second in Group A, in the other semi-final match.
U-20 GIRLS DIVISION
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies dominated Group A with a perfect record, winning all their matches without conceding a goal. The Masandawana ladies will take on Group B runners-up Superstrikers FC in the semi-finals. RV United finished top of Group B and will meet Group A runners-up Ixias Ladies in the other semi-final clash.
HIGH-PROFILE FOOTBALL FIGURES IN ATTENDANCE
The second day of the tournament attracted a strong line-up of football figures, including Mamelodi Sundowns Chairman Tlhopie Motsepe, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr., Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis and captain Refiloe Jane. AmaZulu head coach Arthur Zwane also made a cameo appearance, while former Chippa United coach Kwanele Kopo and Usuthu’s Head of Football Strategy Sinesipho Mali were also present to check out some of the country’s emerging young talent in action.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Rushwin Dortley was also spotted in the stands supporting his younger brother, Emile, who is representing the Amakhosi development team.
The final day of the tournament is set to reach its climax under the theme “Where Diski Legends Start”, with the semi-finals followed by the third-to-eighth-place playoffs in both divisions before the two grand finals what will see the crowning of this year’s Champ of Champs.
