The playlists shine a spotlight on the artists shaping the sound of Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, bringing together established names, emerging talent and the diverse genres that have become synonymous with each province.
From Limpopo’s unmistakable sound to the artists carrying it forward, the playlist features hometown favourites includingMakhadzi, King Monada, Darque, K-Zaka, Ba Bethe Gaoshazen, CK the DJ, Obiie King, TorQue and Shandesh, among others.
Celebrating the rich musical landscape of KwaZulu-Natal, the playlist moves across Maskandi, Gqom, Afro-pop and contemporary sounds, featuring artists including Mjolisi, Mawhoo, Kelly Khumalo, Jikijiki, Nobuhle, Que DJ, Nomfundo Moh and Q Twins, alongside the newly launched Zulu Queens playlist.
From the birthplace of Amapiano to the province’s enduring hip-hop and house scenes, the Gauteng playlist captures the diversity and energy of the province with artists including Maglera Doe Boy, FLVME, SjavasDaDeejay, Tyler ICU, DJ Sliq, MashBeatz, Al Xapo & Benzoo and Royal Musiq.
Together, the playlists are a celebration of where South African music comes from, how it sounds, and the artists who continue to push it forward.
