Loving the person you are is the most important thing, why because no one else can love you exactly as you love yourself.
This was one of the key messages shared with women who attended the Women Can Summit in Midrand on Tuesday, where more than 300 women from different backgrounds gathered for a powerful networking and empowerment session.
The event focused on promoting women’s health, wellbeing, financial literacy and self-care as part of the organisation’s Women’s Month celebrations.
Founder Tumi Mthembu said this year’s event marked the third anniversary of the Women Can initiative, which continues to create spaces where women can learn, connect and uplift one another.
“Women Can is dedicated to the holistic empowerment of women,” she said. “Through events like these, we want to encourage women to prioritise their health, manage their finances wisely and take care of themselves and their families,” Mthembu said.
Throughout the session, participants took part in informative discussions covering physical, emotional and financial wellbeing. The speakers encouraged attendees to embrace self-love, invest in their personal growth and make informed decisions that will improve their quality of life.
More than 300 guests attended the event and many of these people were mainly women who were eager to gain practical knowledge and inspiration. These women left feeling motivated and better equipped to make positive changes in their personal and professional lives.
Held annually during August to commemorate Women’s Month, the Women Can Summit is hosted at a different venue each year, providing a platform for women from diverse communities to network, share experiences and empower one another.
As the event came to a conclusion, all attendees departed with confidence, valuable life lessons and a shared commitment to building healthier, stronger and more financially secure futures.
