The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will host a series of workshops across all 5 regions (also known as corridors) of the province, that will educate young up-and-coming DJs on the basics of personal financial planning.
250 beneficiaries of the department’s DJ Development programme, which includes emerging disk jockeys, performing artists and school groups who are a part of the Wednesday League Integrated School Arts Programme, will be taught about Financial Wellness and Business of the Arts.
The workshop participants will be empowered with critical information to be given from accredited financial institutions and professional industry artists. This initiative adds to their development as a part of the provincial progamme that provides training and access to resources and opportunities for talent in Gauteng communities to progress and cultivate sustainable livelihoods within industries of the creative arts sector.
