Warner Music Africa’s Annual Brunch: A Showcase of Innovation and Talent in African Music

 Warner Music Africa hosted its annual year-end brunch at the exquisite The View Boutique Hotel, showcasing its unwavering dedication to nurturing creativity and innovation within the African music industry.

The brunch brought together the crème de la crème of the South African entertainment scene, with celebrities and influencers gracing the occasion. Among the notable guests were musicians DBN Gogo, Yumbs, Thebe Magugu, and the Major League DJz, alongside influencers Xoli Gcabashe and Olwethu Leshabane, Chad Jones, Mpruedie, and Big Brother Africa winner Khosi TwalaNomalanga Shozi served as the MC for the exclusive event, guiding guests through the program and initiating the proceedings with a moment of silence for the legendary musician Zahara.

The DJ lineup featured Warner Music Africa’s Dance Music roster, including Shaun Stylist, Ms. Cosmo, Blacqnick, Masterblaq, and Malumz on Decks.

The View Boutique Hotel provided an idyllic backdrop for the event, and the generous support of sponsors further elevated the atmosphere. Hunter’s Premium Cider delivered the refreshments and demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the music industry by supporting the award segment of the brunch. The proudly South African cider brand shone a spotlight on Ch’cco, the recipient of the 2023 Rising Star Award, who featured prominently in their 2023 music-centred campaign as one to watch within the industry. 

Aromat took the lead as the official food sponsor, providing visually appealing photo opportunities in various venue segments and offering a delightful three-course meal throughout the brunch. RGBC Brands ensured a seamless drinks experience, creating a vibrant and celebratory ambiance throughout the brunch.

The day’s schedule was meticulously curated to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. In collaboration with Hunter’s and Aromat, Warner Music Africa presented awards to Focalistic for Icon of the Year and Ch’cco for Rising Star of the Year, underscoring Warner Music Africa’s commitment to showcasing the thriving South African music scene.

Warner Music Africa Managing Director Temi Adeniji presented awards to Riaan Benade for his contribution to Afrikaans music, receiving the Innovation in Music Award, and to the Major League DJz with the Impact in Music Award, acknowledging their instrumental role in expanding Amapiano’s reach worldwide.

“We are proud to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our artists and industry partners,” said Adeniji. “The past year has been remarkable for us, and we are excited about the future of African music.”

The event also featured the introduction of the “Minister of Flavour,” Melody Miya, and Ziphozihle Kati, Aromat Brand Manager, who presented the Aromat x WMA Cultureshifter of the Year.
