Friday, 01 December | Johannesburg: South African dynamic duo Mavisto & MuTeo celebrate the official launch of their debut EP, “uThando,” marking a captivating musical odyssey into the intricacies of love, life challenges, and the celebration of African heritage. The EP, featuring a diverse array of tracks, encapsulates the essence of the duo’s distinctive sound and their mission to carve a niche in the global dance scene.

Tracks such as “uThando” and “Buya Darly” serve as poignant reflections on heartbreak and the longing to reignite lost love. These sentiments are artfully conveyed through soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, complemented by impactful Afro-House productions. Meanwhile, “Impumelelo” and “WeMhlaba” confront life’s challenges head-on, resonating with individuals striving for success despite facing obstacles. Mavisto & MuTeo inspire listeners to persevere and draw strength from within. Regarding the track “African Anthem,” the duo shares, “This song is a celebration of African roots and black identity. Our aim is to keep the rich tapestry of African history alive through music, fostering unity across different African nations.”

Hailing from the vibrant coastal city of Richards Bay, Mavisto (Nhlanzeko Dlamini) and MuTeo (Siphamandla Talent Mahlangu) discovered common ground in their shared passion for music. Mavisto’s artistic journey began as a dancer, while MuTeo’s early interest in music evolved into a successful career as a producer and DJ. Drawing inspiration from icons such as Black Coffee, Shimza, Prince Kaybee, and King Monada, the duo’s collaboration is a fusion of diverse musical influences.

Mavisto & MuTeo have collaborated with acclaimed artists, including Blaklez, Jim Mastershine, and Swazi musician Sands. Their debut release, “Kobanini,” made waves in the dance community, with the lead track securing a spot on Traxsource’s Top 10 Afro House Chart. In 2022, the duo signed with FS World Records, led by Fisoh Seni, and later joined forces with Warner Music Africa, propelling their careers to new heights.
