Kabza De Small leads in #SAMA29 Industry Awards Wins

The King of Amapiano fans had a lot to celebrate with Kabza De Small winning Best Produced Album for KOA II Part 1 alongside Da Muziqal Chef, Mdu aka TRP, Stakev, DJ Maphorisa and Felo le Tee and Best Kwaito Album for Speak N Vrostaan with Kwesta.

As the second most nominated artist for #SAMA29, this puts Kabza De Small ahead with two out of seven of his nominations in the bag.

The Megacy’s icon, the late AKA shows us that his spirit lives on forever as he took home Best Engineered Album for Mass Country, in collaboration with Robin Kohl and Itu. AKA continues to stand as the most nominated artist for #SAMA29 with eight nominations in total. An undeniable feat.

In his mere second year as a solo artist, Mörda has proved to have true skin in the game as he took home the Best Dance Album for his first solo project Asante, named after his daughter. The musical sensation also took home Remix of the Year for his take on Yallunder which he partners up with Ndinovalo on.

This means the artist is one album away from a total grand slam as he is also nominated for Best Collaborations alongside House DJ, Oscar Mbo.

Desire, winner of the Best Alternative Album shines through reminding us of the importance of dancing to the beat of your own drum, staying true to your sound and embracing your originality in its entirety. This is Desire Marea’s first SAMA win. He is also nominated for Album of the Year.

Another first time SAMA winner and nominee is soulful tenor Lloyiso who bagged Best Pop Album of the Year. The media favourite is also one win away from total triumph for all his nominations.

KZN Gospel rockstar Dumi Mkokstad took home Best Traditional Faith Album brought to you by Motsweding FM for Overflow Gcwala Kimi while Ntokozo Mbambo won Best Contemporary Faith Music Album for Lavish Worship.
Fan favourite Francois van Coke lives up to his rockstar title with Best Rock Album for Kanniedood.

We wait to see what the main show has in store for us as it takes place tomorrow 18 November 2023, live at the SunBet Arena at Times Square in Menlyn Maine with red carpet kicking off at 16:00.
