The reclusive South African singer
songwriter, Ma Nala (born Aphelele Mnyango), who is gifted with a musical acumen that
fuses Soul and Afro-pop into her music is releasing ‘We Going In’ from her much anticipated EP
In Her Glory. The song title is inspired by her real-life experiences – letting go of all your troubles
and enjoying the present. It’s about having a good time and bossing Up!
The soon-to-be-released EP consists of five songs which are feel-good dance songs
encrypted with messages about love, self-empowerment, living life to the fullest, and
overcoming obstacles in life.
“My musical journey has been somewhat of a roller coaster with many trials and
tribulations; however, I am optimistic to rise above everything that comes my way and I
believe in divine timing.” says Ma Nala.
Ma Nala uses music as an outlet to express and narrate personal stories that are
textured with rich descriptions, she also believes that music is a pathway for young
women like her to assert themselves in an increasingly alien world
