It’s is often said that rumours spread like a wild fire. This was the case when Shauwn Mkhize who affectionately know as Mamkhize found herself being dragged into the Thabo Bester mud. It was reported that Mamkhize was rumoured to be the female celebrity that visited Thabo Bester in prison. The news broke out after News24 journalist, Karyn Maughan, confirmed in a now viral video that a female celebrity was in the G4S prison records on Thabo Bester’s visitations.

Karyn later clarified that the prison records provided by G4S do not list Shauwn Mkhize as having visited Thabo Bester in prison. Therefore, she was not one of the celebrities that the publication know visited him. She is not sure how Mamkhize’s name was thrown into the story.

Karyn further states that the women that News24 has spoken to said they visited Thabo Bester after he pretended to be Tom Motsepe and tried to lure them or talk them into deals.
They visited him after they found out who he was and wanted to confront him.

Many of these women have spoken about the shame and embarrassment they felt after discovering they had been scammed by the rapist and killer. They felt stupid and wanted to put the experience behind them. That is why they all said they did not report what happened to them.

Obviously that did not end the speculations into the mentioned female celebrity. According to AdvoBarryRoux Thabo Bester’s visitors recorded in the list is a former Muvhango actress, Simphiwe Ngema. Further alleges that an unknown person named Thomas Gumede visited Thabo more than anyone.
