PRIMIER MEET PSL BOSS TO DISCUS WAY FOWRD IN SPORTS

The Gauteng Provincial Government Premier, Panyaza Lesufi joined by MEC for Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Morakane Mosupyoe today met with the Chairman of PSL, Dr Irvin Khoza as part of strengthening relations with the Sporting fraternity.

Sports plays a crucial role in building social cohesion. Football in particular is one of the jewels of the province of Gauteng, not only in the development of talent but also as a major contributor to the economy of the province.

The Gauteng government made a commitment to work with the Football fraternity in establishing a museum of football in South Africa as well as on reviving the School of Excellence so that more football talent can be developed in the province and across the country.

Gauteng has also launched two Sports schools of specialisation which focus on sports and sports science including football as part of development and enhancing the transformation agenda in sports.
