Nasty C’s “I Love it Here” Album

Nasty C, the South African rap sensation, has been making waves in the music industry since his teenage years. With his fourth studio album, I Love it Here, released earlier this month, he continues to solidify his position as one of Africa’s most dynamic and influential artists. This album, featuring 19 tracks, explores the rapper’s personal experiences and emotions.

Born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, Nasty C’s journey into the world of rap began at the tender age of nine, under the guidance of his older brother. By 15, he had released his first mixtape, One Kid, A Thousand Coffins. It was clear that this young talent had something unique to offer. His 2014 Price City mixtape further propelled him into the limelight.

Over the years, Nasty C has amassed a string of successful projects, building a reputation as a formidable force in the industry. His 2022 mixtape, the Ivyson Army Tour Mixtape, received critical acclaim, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his next release. I Love It Here is a testament to Nasty C’s artistic growth and versatility and boasts a star-studded lineup of collaborations, including Benny The Butcher, Tellaman, Ami Faku, Manana, 25K, Anica, and Maglera Doe Boy.

On tracks like Prosper in Peace, featuring Benny the Butcher, Nasty C reflects on life’s challenges in the spotlight while maintaining his confidence in overcoming adversity. Prosper in Peace first charted three weeks ago, and this week climbs 12 places to #10 internationally and six places up the local chart to #11, just narrowly missing the top ten.

This single, and others like Endless, delves into themes of love, triumph, and purpose. Endless debuted at #82 on the local charts and #154 on the international charts but made a remarkable ascension to #6 and #7 locally and internationally in its second charting week.

Other notable tracks from the album include She’s Gone and The End which makes impactful debuts on both local (#10) and international charts (#11), while the introspective Release Me encourage listeners to unburden themselves and let go at #18 on the International Top 200.

In addition, the music world was recently treated to a surprise collaboration between Drake and SZA. Their single, Slime You Out, marks their first collaboration and ends a long-standing back-and-forth between the two artists. The track quickly made waves, but not without controversy, as it featured an image of Halle Berry against her wishes. Slime You Out makes its international debut at #3.

Meanwhile, South African music sensation Dlala Thukzin has released his latest project, the Permanent Music 3. This five-track EP showcases his growth and evolution in the music scene. The single iPlan, featuring Zaba and Sykes, is a lively Amapiano track that ignites dancefloors. iPlan has quickly climbed the charts, securing its place at #4 locally and #5 internationally.
